Terms & Conditions
The rules that govern your use of the MindCova online psychology booking platform.
1. Scope of service
MindCova operates an online platform at mindcova.com that connects patients with independent, EU-resident psychologists for paid, language- and culture-matched video consultations. Sessions are delivered exclusively via Google Meet links generated by the psychologist's calendar at the time of booking.
MindCova is a booking and scheduling platform only. We do not provide psychological treatment ourselves. Every psychologist listed on the platform practises as an independent professional under their own professional licence and is solely responsible for the clinical content of the session.
2. Patient eligibility
Booking and using MindCova requires that you (a) are at least 18 years old, (b) reside in the European Economic Area or are an expatriate temporarily located in Europe, (c) provide accurate registration and consent information, and (d) explicitly consent to the processing of special-category mental-health data under Article 9 GDPR at sign-up. MindCova is not a service for medical emergencies. If you are in acute distress or at risk of harming yourself or others, please contact your local emergency services or a crisis hotline.
3. Booking and cancellation
When you book a session, you reserve a specific time slot on the chosen psychologist's calendar. A confirmation email containing the session details and the Google Meet link is sent to you and to the psychologist. The session price displayed at checkout is the price you pay.
You may cancel a booked session free of charge up to 48 hours before its scheduled start time and receive a full refund. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the session, or no-shows, are non-refundable; in such cases the psychologist is paid in full for the reserved slot. If the psychologist cancels the session for any reason, you receive a full refund.
4. Payment terms
All payments are processed via Stripe Checkout in your local currency where supported. The price of each service is shown on the psychologist's profile and on the checkout page before you confirm the booking. MindCova receives card payments via Stripe and is the merchant of record for the booking transaction.
Payouts to psychologists are handled by MindCova outside of the Stripe Connect clearing mechanism. You are not party to the commercial agreement between MindCova and the psychologist regarding fees or revenue share.
5. Conduct expectations
You agree to (a) attend booked sessions on time and prepared, (b) treat the psychologist and any MindCova staff with respect, (c) not record sessions without the explicit written consent of the psychologist, (d) not share account credentials or session links with third parties, and (e) not use the platform for unlawful, abusive, or fraudulent purposes.
6. Liability and medical disclaimer
MindCova provides a booking platform and reasonable technical means for the session to take place. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the platform, of Google Meet, or of any individual psychologist. Our liability for ordinary negligence is limited, to the maximum extent permitted by law, to the fee paid for the affected session; this limitation does not apply to liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body, or health, or to mandatory statutory liability.
MindCova is not a medical-care provider and does not exercise clinical judgement. The psychologist–patient relationship is established directly between you and the psychologist you book; MindCova is not a party to that relationship and assumes no clinical responsibility for it.
MindCova is a booking platform; the psychologist–patient relationship is between the two parties. In a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately.
7. Account suspension and termination
MindCova may suspend or terminate an account, with or without notice, if it has a reasonable basis to believe that the account has been used in breach of these terms, in breach of applicable law, to defraud the platform or its psychologists, or to harm other users. You may close your account at any time from the account settings page; closing your account triggers the data-deletion flow described in our privacy policy (soft delete followed by hard delete after 30 days, subject to statutory retention obligations).
8. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms and any non-contractual obligations arising from them are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. All personal data is stored and processed exclusively in AWS region eu-central-1 (Frankfurt). The exclusive place of jurisdiction for disputes with merchants, legal entities under public law, or special funds under public law is Berlin, Germany. Consumers retain their mandatory statutory rights and the right to bring proceedings before the courts of their place of residence.
9. Modifications and effective date
MindCova may amend these terms to reflect changes to the service, applicable law, or operational requirements. Material changes will be announced by email and on the platform at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. The currently effective version is identified by the review date shown at the top of this page.
